Well, what to say about the UK?

This is where it all started off, just north of London in a small village called Much Hadham in Hertfordshire.

Since we left, we have been back. We found ourselves as existential gypsies, still travelling across the globe in a place we used to call home.

We both love the UK, and Lisa, being from Northern Ireland has a special affinity for the place (as I do for Philadelphia.)

In a visit to the UK, I would highly recommend the Causeway Coast of Northern Ireland, Bath and Bristol, Edinburgh and of course London. If you have time, the Lake District (Cumbria) in the north of England is spectacular, and many treats await the foreign visitor. Snowdonia in Northern Wales is spectacular the mountain walks are phenomenal (but don't go during winter.)

Below is a little more on our thoughts about a few places in the UK. Hope you enjoy them. If you have any specific questions, forward them on to us and we will do our best to get you the answer.

London, England (the heart of the Empire)

Ah, London! The city where we met. What fantastic times we had skirting the edges of this beautiful city - mostly sitting in traffic on the M25.

London, England. What can I say. It seems like culture was born here and is instilled in every accented member of the society.

'Cup of tea?' they ask when first stepping into a home. I find myself saying 'Hello, yes, white with two sugars.' For if you have ever had true cup of English tea you will surely not forget the experience. First class by all standards.

Weather? Well . . . um . . . er . . . unpredictable. Yes, unpredictable. (Let me tell you it rains a lot. When it is nice, there is no more comfortable place on the planet. When it is nice!)

Highly recommended - umbrella not included.

Edinburgh, The Capital of Scotland

This is Edinburgh Castle which stands tall on a cliff in the midst of the city. Crowds of Millennium citizens pack the streets shopping in year 2000 shops with this stone cut giant towering above. Amazing and enticing Edinburgh.

The Scots are a friendly lot. Very polite and helpful. I just said to a friend the other day that if ever the world was about to end, and someone needed to save it by fighting, the Scots would save us all! The fighting highland spirit lives in each and every one of them - behind their friendly smiles and caring hearts.

My top British City by all accounts! Let me know if you agree.

The Causeway Coast of Northern Ireland

Northern Ireland has the most beautiful skies I have ever seen. In the evening along the beaches of the Causeway coast I often find myself lost in the pink and purple clouds rolling across the sea from Scotland.

Most of the time people in the UK say, "I always wanted to go to Northern Ireland, but with all the troubles . . ." From a real perspective I can unequivocally say: Nonsense!

Troubles, we all have troubles.

Everywhere in the world is dangerous if you read the NEWS. Just because a bunch of Protestants and Catholics have been arguing for years doesn't make it a scary place to visit!

Come here. It is some of the most beautiful land I have ever seen. Quaint, friendly, beautiful and green.

By all means some of the most spectacular scenes in the entire United Kingdom.
