February - March 2010 - SUMMERTIME

Life with the Clarks Down Under continues to be great fun in 2010.

Western Australian PelicansWith three darling little cherubs like Devon, Darshan and Kira life is always divine! We have been adventuring again, enjoying the natural beauty around us and appreciating just being alive.

Devon is so sensitive, inquisitive, clever, and full of spirit. He loves Fremantle chess, making jewellery and doing most things creative. Darshan is a lovely boy, full of caring for others, smiles and cuddles. He loves making music, playing Peter Pan and painting. Kira is an angel, full of giggles and laughter, giving us all her "Kira Kisses". She is an outdoors girl who loves to swim, dig in the dirt and chase the birds.

CHRISTMAS 2009

We started talking about Christmas a long time before Christmas actually came to the Clarks Down Under. After weeks of count downs it was a delight that Christmas Eve was really here and that Santa would be arriving soon.

Devon and Darshan were so excited, they enjoyed every aspect of the preparation. They hung up their stockings, they washed the carrots to leave for the reindeers and chose the homemade cookies to leave for Santa. We wrote Santa's note together and left out the beautiful paintings that Devon and Darshan had made for him.

We sang Jingle Bells and We Three Kings and watched the Christmas tree lights sparkle, it really was a wonderful evening. In keeping with our family tradition, that we each get to open one present on Christmas Eve, this year we decided to go for a parcel, Memom and Poppy's...woh that was GREAT. So many presents wrapped up in one big box!! We had such fun opening each parcel, taking it in turns so we could appreciate each others gifts too :)It was the perfect gift and it kept us opening and playing for hours. It is amazing that at 90 plus years these two lovely beings are so in touch with their great great grandchildren, how inspiring.

At last it was time to sleep, story books about Christmas, and a Christmas "Mimsy and Borogove" Bedtime Story featuring Santa himself! (These are stories of Vibodha's about 2 helpful clever mice and their adventures in the forest where they live, the boys LOVE them, me too :) Can you hear the sound of distant jingling bells, I think I can...

Christmas morning around 6am Kira and Darshan are awake and are wondering when their brown-eyed brother is going to wake up, Darshan really needs to see if Santa had really come. At last Devon wakes up, Vibodha had been up since 5.15am checking a battery had charged up, isn't he sweet :)

When they came out into the family room their faces lit up with all the presents, they really didn't know where to go to first. It felt truly great to bring that amount of happiness to my little children, they are such angels. They dived around from parcel to parcel, but it wasn't long before Santa's pile of wrapped gifts was discovered...the bow and arrow for Devon, the rocket and launcher for Darshan and the cuddly tiger for Kira, they LOVED them all.

It was lovely to participate in the day with Kira, last year she was only 1 week old and now she is walking around and talking, how amazing we are. She is a joy, a divine light. Darshan is a peaceful considerate being and Devon is centred and sensitive. We unwrapped gifts all throughout the day, enjoying them together inside, outside; the weather was fantastic, sunshine and blue skies.

We just relaxed and enjoyed the day together immersed in eachothers company, playing games, reading books, watching Koala Brothers movies and eating delicious food.

Our Boxing Day was beautiful too with a few more presents that were discovered unopened and a chance to play with all our new toys and games all day, noone wanted to go anywherem happy to stay at home for another day of celebration at the Clarks Down Under Christmas 2009.

Water...

I love springtime downunder... the rain washing from the west, the sun from the north, the whales from the south...

Where has the time gone? It seems to be here, but everytime I look it seems to be in the past. Perhaps only newscasters can manage to keep up with it all, but really... who has the time? Over the last few years we have had quite an adventure. We've got three children (two boys and a girl), live on a big block of land on the south coast of western australia overlooking an Inlet, and have moved our business entirely onto the internet. Each of these 'realms' of our life could fill tomes. Instead they are left to our memories and a few kilobites of electricity floating around the net. Even keeping in touch with our friends has gone from creating this web page to the scrolling pages of facebook.

Australian Citizens - 12 Year Wedding Anniversary

We are now all officially Australian, having received our citizenship during the town of Denmark's Australia Day Picnic.

Twelve years later finds us on the South Coast of Western Australia with three children (two boys and a girl) in our beautiful home on seven acres overlooking the Wilson Inlet.

It's been quite a journey these last twelve years. We've been through so much and are still holding hands, walking down the path of life. I can not imagine what my life would have been like without my beloved. I am grateful, happy, and filled with wonder at the amazing red-haired Irish girl who married me.

The South Coast of Western Australia
Monday, July 21, 2008

July 2008 - We're down south in our new home in Denmark, Western Australia. It's directly facing south, towards Antarctica. The new web banner you see above is our new local area, it's called the Rainbow Coast which stretches from Walpole in the West, through Denmark, and on to Albany in the East.

The Wilson Inlet, DenmarkWe're enjoying all the space. The boys are growing fast. Darshan's using full sentences. "Daddy boots on to go outside?" "Me coming too?" "Daddy put this stone in mine pocket?" What a cute little boy! Devon is teaching himself numbers and letters. asking us how to spell things and tracing the letters with his finger in the air. He's very good at doing puzzles and is clever as all getout.

We're living just on the Wilson Inlet, which is a huge inland inlet which is separated from the Great Southern Ocean by a sandbar, where a channel has just been dug. The boys and I were at Ocean Beach this morning (July 21, 2008) watching the inlet empty into the sea.

The south most point of Western Australia, in West Cape Howe National Park, is not far away. This land was connected to Antarctica long before we'd arrived.

The air is it's freshest down here, as it is very clean from wrapping around the planet, then coursing over Antarctica before traveling over the Great Southern Ocean to here... apparently it's some of the the cleanest in the world.

The bird life is amazing and we have a bird sanctuary island just in front of our house in the Inlet >> Western Australian Pelicans and Black Swans abound. >>

If people become ecstatic the whole society will have to change, because this society is based on misery. If people are blissful you cannot lead them to war -- to Vietnam, or to Egypt, or to Israel. No. Someone who is blissful will just laugh and say: This is nonsense!"

"The most powerful thing you can do to change the world is to change your own beliefs about the nature of life, people and reality, to something more positive... and begin to act accordingly."
