April, May and June 2006

The Clarks of AustraliaParenting is fun. Don't let anyone tell you any differently. Sure, it's not without challenges, but they're NOTHING compared to what you get out of it.

Nothing.

This update takes us from Boys Birthday's to the Lighthouse of Dunsborough. There are lots of photographs, and much adventuring to be seen.

April, May and June 2006 in Western Australia

There is no word for "I" in our language, only "us" and "we".

I saw a movie about an old north-american Indian man, a storyteller, and his passing from this life. Along the way he told stories to his grandson, whiling away the miles on the back of an old horse on the way to a great pow-wow.

I enjoyed listening to the stories. Some I learned from, some I fast-forwarded through, many I liked.

The grandfather shared his stories. He took people on marvelous adventures through think and thin, from days of old, and not so old.

It would have been a different story if he was not a storyteller.

If he was silent, what would there be to hear? What would there be to learn? Which has me ask, "How are we to continue to grow if we do not share our experiences with one another? How are we to learn? How are we to see?"

I am left with a powerful verse from the movie, one that I hope to integrate powerfully into my life.

June 2006
Jan-Feb-Mar 2006

Wow.

Sitting here to write to you after five months, I think about 'summing it up' and know not where to begin.

Tila, pregnant, is a blessed angel. I am amazed at her capacity to encompass the whole of the family with her support. Her belly makes her twice as deep now, yet I see smiles on her face as she plays with Devon again and again. We're at 7 weeks and counting until another australian baby boy arrives in our home.

Devon, alphabetizing, is speaking all day long. He talks of 'distance' and 'left and right'. He knows where the shop is, and where the park is. He knows that he lives in Australia.

Fully potty trained, he takes care of himself in that area. He just now walked in to the room and asks to play with the computer. He knows that the computer is where daddy works, and that that is how I make money. He knows I'm sending 'emails' and he helps me set up a playlist of music to play.

His language is amazing. Other parents think he's 4 years old. He's fully aware that mummy has got a baby in her belly, and that the baby gets food from it's umbilical cord. He's such a delight to be around.

Me? I'm doing good.

I'm managing Uplift Design, designing websites for the creative and healing arts. I now support over 50 clients around the world with their internet presence. I'm so blessed to work with people who are adding positivity and healing to the world. We are all blessed that there are people like this.

I wanted to share following quotation by George Bernard Shaw.

That all of our 'stuff' leads us to the same place. Here. Now.

Our experience of life is where the richness lies. Life and and all those in it are what makes it special, not some 'thought' in our heads. Peace. Love. Gratitude.

...on to George Bernard Shaw...

"This is the true joy in life, the being used for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one; The being a force of nature instead of a feverish, selfish little clod of ailments and grievances complaining that the world will not devote itself to making you happy.

I am on the opinion that my life belongs to the whole community and as long as I live it is my privledge to do for it WHATEVER I can. I WANT TO BE THROUGHLY USED UP WHEN I DIE, FOR THE HARDER I WORK THE MORE I LIVE.

I rejoice in life for its own sake. Life is no "brief candle" to me. It is a sort of splendid torch which I have got hold of for the moment, and I want to make it burn as brightly as possible before handing it on to future generations."

It's been a while since our last update, we know.
We hope you enjoy our latest adventures.

December 2005.

That's the end of 2005.

When I was a kid, we only used to count as far as 2000. We never discussed what we'd be doing, or how old we would be in 2006.

Yet here it is on our doorstep.

It's been an enlightening year this past year.

Devon, steadily grew in courage and dexterity, language and learning. My beloved, concieving yet another miracle, continues to bring joy to my life. Me taking steps into the scientific exploration of the universe of Hado.

2005 was a great year. A GREAT YEAR.

This update has LOTS of adventures including a visit to the Aquarium of Western Australia, The Museum of Western Australia, The Cuhuna Koala Park, Gardening, christmas, The Rainbow Warrior and more...

If people become ecstatic the whole society will have to change, because this society is based on misery. If people are blissful you cannot lead them to war -- to Vietnam, or to Egypt, or to Israel. No. Someone who is blissful will just laugh and say: This is nonsense!"

Thailand RTW Trip 2005 - July 2005

This is the photograph of the month. It is almost surreal.

I'm sure many things are going around in your head about what is happening here >>> and I want to assure you that it was taken in midst of a very adventurous experience.

What I'm most awed by, is that as cool as this experience will be looking at it from this distance, it will not touch the joy of the experience itself. If YOU haven't stood this close to an elephant I think it is time for you to do this. They are very friendly and very wise... even artistic. They like bananas.

Quite like some of my friends, really.

Speaking of friends, our dear friend Nirav travelled the length of Thailand to be with us.

As always, he brightened and enlightened our stay.

Many blessings Nirav!

We hope you enjoy our adventures in Chiang Mai as much as we did, and again, we encourage YOU to travel.

See the things you've always wanted to see. Do the things you've always wanted to do. Note: for my 33rd birthday I received a tandem Hanggliding session down in Albany (south). It was a gift from Tila and Devon. I am excited.

So, on we go into the North of Amazing Thailand...

Rickshaw in India 2005 taken by E.J. Clark (Tom's Brother)"We'll here I am writing and I can make it a short story or a long novel because India is like that!

We've had a great time here, we had a nice place to stay right in the busiest part of the city, we spent two nights there, we went to the Taj Mahal, we had a rough day of it and we busted out our credit card and went to the Sheraton.

It's the nicest hotel in Delhi, Clinton and Putin have stayed here, it has world renown resturaunt know for dal bukhara which was incredible, and we leave for Dubai tonight. We could have stayed at our other crazy hotel for one more night but you know waht it is like here and when your on the busiest street in town, you cant really walk out at night and just get something to eat, so we really didnt eat for a day or so!

Photo from India 2005 taken by E.J. Clark (Tom's Brother)We even met up with the jewler friends of Amanda's aunts and they are awesome, we're going to thier shop again today before we leave for the Airport (their personal driver will take us...)

We've seen a whole lot of India, from poor to rich and the taj mahal was amazing. Worth it.

We head for Dubai tonight/ morning - Monday 12th - more from there, but I am just WOWED out from India - amazingly dirty crowded place that will make any traveller more wise!"
