Globaltickit - Vibodha, Tila, Devon and Darshan
October, November and (early December) 2004

Five years.

It doesn't feel like five years. It feels like five lifetimes. Around and around we go, winter, summer, spring, and another summer.

Again, I must say, I find it amazing.

What a wonder.

What a life.

"There are more things in this universe than are dreamt of in our reality."

Here's a bit of our reality...

The First Devon Sky

This delightful flower is named a DEVON SKY.

As soon as we saw it we had to have some growing.

They are so delicate and beautiful just like Devon.

32nd Year

Within three days, I turned 32 and my son turned 1. It has been a great year!

Residency in Australia, a RTW trip, businesses set up, baby walking and talking...

I look at my life and am grateful for all that has occurred in it, and how wonderful a year it has been!

It is also the year that I watched my father (Coach) have a round-the-world webcamming session with my baby son.

Things keep changing... time moves on. Anything is possible.

Devon's First Birthday - October 9th, 2004

"Happy Birthday to You...

Happy Birthday to You...

Happy Birthday Dear Devon

Happy Birthday to you."

This time last year I was waiting to meet you.

Now that I know you, I love you even more.

Becoming a Toddler

Devon enjoys being in his paddling pool. It's so hot during the day that a swim is just what is needed. (Devon: Thanks for the cool present Nannie and Grampa).

He enjoys splish splashing away.

Devon went to a "Gymbaroo" Class; it is like being at the mini gym for toddlers and it is a LOT of fun!!!

Devon was able to interact with the other children even if only very briefly.

He is learning to share.

We had a wonderful visit from our friends Bronwyn, Venetia & Bailey congrats Venetia, and a pregnant Alyssa who has since then had her own little boy Maddox …congrats!!

Here is a photo of the proud Mum ~ A happy Venetia with inquisitve Bailey.

Devon's First Swimming Classes at our local Pool.

We have been taking Devon to swimming lessons at 9am on Thursday mornings to the heated indoor pool at the Fremantle Leisure Centre.

It is like being in a big bath and Devon just loves it.

It has been a great learning experience for all the family. I highly recommend it.

It was photo day at our 8th swimming class and Devon went underwater for the FIRST TIME!!

His very first underwater experience was photographed for all to enjoy!!!

The Gecko of Spring

There was a gecko on our bathroom window the other day. I NOW see why many of the Australian designs include these small creatures. They're CUTE, and they stick to anything.

They also eat mosquitoes.

Go gecko!

This flower has been a delight to watch bloom. I repotted it into a much larger non-drainable pot and placed it at the top of our front stairs.

Almost instantly it doubled in size and bloomed.

Beautiful.

Little Lefroy - We bought a HOUSE.

It's called Little Lefroy, and is situated just behind the Chocolate Factory (a small quaint one) in South Fremantle.

40 Days of Dynamic Meditation
Coogee Beach, 6am

Zen Master Osho created a meditation. It is an active meditation.

With music, it proceeds: 10 minutes of breathing, 10 minutes of catharsis (emotional release), 10 minutes of jumping (with arms in the air). Followed by 15 minutes of silence and then 15 minutes of dancing (awakening the body).

60 minutes in all.

It is traditionally done at 6am.

Last year I did 30 days in a row.

This year it's 80.

Today is day twenty.
(December 30, 2004)

Most times others join in.

The largest group numbered seven (plus mama and baby).

Dynamic Meditation is something all Sannyasin's are familiar with, so there are many people around who find the benefit in this type of meditation.

Directly after meditation comes a swim in the ocean.

The air is 75+degrees F at 6am. (soon to be 90+).

At 6am how do YOU look?

I LOVE it.

This photo was taken after Dynamic Meditation on our Sannyas Birthday. See more photos of the morning.

Devon Plays

There is an oval near our house.

A Cricket & Rugby oval.

It's huge.

When you get out into the middle of it, the SPACE around you feels boundless.

We like taking Devon to the park so he can experience this immense-ness himself.

It must feel even BIGGER to someone only thirty inches tall (as of Tuesday, December 28, 2004).

See more of the park, and Devon having fun:

Playing with Dad.
Out and about...DEVON IS WALKING

As you can see... Devon is walking!!

Yahoo. he took his first proper 5 or 6 steps on October 29th. 20 days after his first birthday. It is so cute to watch. It is really amazing the amount of things that children learn in those first years of life.

He can even stand on one foot!

He loves being outside (like his Dad) and enjoys carrying water from his paddling pool to water the plants.

One Sundayafternoon we went to Fremantle park with Abheeti and Sarven and had great fun.

There is always lots of entertainment and funs things to do around Freo (Fremantle).

We listened to a great band called "Heads We're dancing".

Devon loved being there. He roamed around and joined a playgroup Christmas party that was going on nearby...he even goes up to the band stand and the whole focus of attention is on him. The band members all start talking to him.

Did you know that a baby can fit into a bucket?

Playing with my Auntie Vistara

Vistara has lots of fun things to play with and do at her house. Devon loves being there.

Here he is just getting excited about all the pens and pen tops he can take off and put on. Where else can I draw?

Other world travelers

Remember Alex and Lesley? He was my best man at our wedding. They visited us just before Devon was born. We didn't write much about them at the time as we were so focused on Devon's imminent arrival.

Well, they just sent this photograph from their adventures in Egypt.

You guys are really an inspiration for all backpackers. Keep travelling.

Amazing, amazing.

It's me, Devon, here in Western Australia, how you guys doing?

It's cool to have the chance to see you guys, even when you're on the other side of the planet!

This internet thing is really great!

Well, gotta go now.

Time for bed.

Love,

Devon.
