DECEMBER 2003 DIARY
Devon's December

Yo! Yo! Wha's up!!??

I've had a great December, except my Dad couldn't pick me up for most of it so my Mummy was giving me extra cuddles!!

If you would like to see more of me and my adventures this month, click here.

Devon's Bedroom

Devon's bedroom has an ocean theme.

We decorated the furniture ourselves.

He loves being in there.

This is the 'diaper changing station' or DCS for short.

This is where we have lots of great chats and Devon gets massages from his mum.

Nicky Vervest

This is Nicky, she is the wonderful midwife who taught us everything we needed to know about having the baby and beyond.

She is an amazing woman.

She taught the class where E.j. learned the 'sumo' nappy (diaper.)

There was a baby-reunion for the class members, however only two babies came back to say hello.

Our friends Jane and Raphael (right) brought baby Yolande to visit. She is cute.

Parenthood

This is a picture that Tila never expected to have taken.

Surrounded by nappies and nappy covers freshly laundered.

This is not our usual dinner time scenario.

We decided to have a picnic (in our sun-room) for a change.

Delicious.

Devon goes dancing with Dad.

This is our friend Pameo, who came for a visit one beautiful morning.

Devon has baths with Mum usually and the rest of the time he takes showers with Dad.

A visit from Bronwyn, Alyssa & Wade...

Bronwyn, Alyssa and Wade made a huge difference to ME this month.

Earlier this month, while carrying Devon in the Baby Carrier (strapped to my front), I bent over to pick up a slab of concrete (don't ask) and WHAM, my back gave out.

I was left with a beautiful baby boy who I COULD NOT PICK UP for three and a half weeks!!!

Arrrrrgh!

Thank goodness for friends like Bronwyn, Alyssa and Wade!

They came and helped me with Devon while Tila was in with clients, and even came and vacuumed the entire house!

Fortunately, I have recovered and can now cuddle my adorable son. Thanks again Bron for all your loving support.

I can say I'm almost fully recovered thanks to a dozen osteopathy appointments and five acupuncture treatments. I'll tell you all about acupuncture in a later installment.

Declarations for 2004

When I was a boy I used to wonder how old I would be in the year 2000.

And now it's 2004.

And I never thought that this is what I'd be doing.

I'm sitting in the Western Australian sunshine with my (Irish) wife and (Australian) baby.

This is Devon with the final edit of my book; Conversations with Money.

Look out for it this year. (I'll expect you all to buy a copy!!)

A Parent's Dream

Devon's electric hammock is just fantastic.

When your baby is warm and comfortable then sleep will inevitably follow.

It's so cute to watch him trying to keep his eyes open while swinging, snuggled up in his cradle-swing.

Thanks Catherine, Sharon, and Stewart and Carol for the Christmas present.

Cute eh?

1950'S Murder Mystery

We had a Who-dunnit.

It was deceptive and delightful.

We were all dressed in 1950's attire, and set to be drama kings and queens.

This is Danielle being 'Pris' - super intelligent top of the class.

David the jock and and Anna the temptress.

See more photographs of the night HERE.
