NOVEMBER 2003 DIARY
Devon's Grandparents (from the UK)

The proud grandparents!!

It was sooooo wonderful having my Mum and Dad over to stay here with us.

They were just so helpful and I really understand now how much they love me and how much they really want to help.

With the birth of Devon, and the first few weeks of his life, they had PLENTY of opportunity to help. We are all grateful for their love.

This is one of the first outings Devon took
in the pram they bought him.

The Things We Do Together

Wednesday, 5th of November: 4.53am
It is 4.53am

Even though I am tired, this is just too funny! I have to write about it.

I have just been feeding Devon for the last hour, and he is WIDE AWAKE.

I am typing this by candlelight and I needed to wake up Vibodha to get him to take over the "Let's get Devon back to sleep" middle of the night routine that has become a regular feature of the Clark household.

Unfortunately, neither of the adults in this relationship are in control in ANY WAY.

Ooh, this is so FUNNY!!

V is now sitting on the "fit ball" bouncing Devon up and down, he has his eyes half closed - V that is... Devon is VERY alert!!

Now he has moved over onto the rocking chair, and is trying the pacifier (dummy, sucker, etc) - which we gave into a few days ago. We held off as long as we could... 3 weeks!!!

So, it's 5 am (a time I didn't normally SEE BEFORE having Devon) and we are now able to be up, active and alert at a seconds notice.

There is a Dynamic Meditation happening in ONE hour that I would normally NEVER go to because it is so EARLY ...irony!!

Parenthood, a LOT of LOVE, and LOT of FUN and a LOT LESS SLEEP!!

I am going off to bed now, leaving Vibodha "holding the baby"...now I know where that phrase comes from!!!

Medicals for Immigration
Devon visits Perth

This was our first trip up to Perth with Devon. We had to go up to get the medicals we need for Immigration.

The whole trip was delightful. Mum and Dad went for a walk around Perth while we got our x-rays and had our medical done.

Our friend Gemma works for Health Services Australia and made our visit easy and comfortable.

The Parkhills return to the UK
November 8th – Saturday

This morning I am feeling sad as my Mum and dad left last night to go home to Northern Ireland.

We have had such a great time with them here.

They have been here since 4 days before Devon was born and have seen him grow and develop in his first 4 weeks on the planet.

Mum and Dad were sad too, although they were looking forward to going back to see Catherine, Paul, Rachel and Matthew.

This was one of the longest times they had been away.

[We are trying to entice them to buy a place here and to spend 6 months of the summer here and the other 6 months of the summer in the UK]

A BIG THANKS:
Thank Mum and Dad for being awesome over the last 5 weeks.

We have had a wonderful time with you.

Thanks for everything you did for the three of us and for everything you bought us all too!!

We all love you LOADS. Now with the birth of Devon I realise just how much you love me [and Catherine and Russell].

Well, we've had visitors!

This lizard managed to make it INSIDE to our sunroom.

Read/see HOW I got him out of the house!

He keeps the snakes away and snails at bay... he and his mate...

Meanwhile, above our pond, this golden frog appeared (with a mate.)

He gave me an amazing opportunity to photograph him... see/read more...

Some time around the middle of the month...

Mum and Dad introduced us to many things while they were here.

They were the ones who toured Fremantle & Perth and told us all about it!

This is me eating the delicious fresh organic yogurt with fresh berries that they also discovered... It's delicious!!

Vistara had a house warming party so we headed down there as a family.

It was very relaxing, a lovely way to spend a Sunday Afternoon.

The Journey
Sunday morning of the 23rd November

My dear friend Laurie and the Journey Team came here to do a workshop and it was fantastic. [22nd and 23rd Nov].

The healing that took place over the weekend was profound and deep.

It was a pleasure to assist on the weekend and to get to hang out with laurie again after almost 5 years . [We trained together in London.]

The Journey team left and gave us so much food that they had bought.

It was the MOST DELICIOUS FOOD!! We have been eating yummy things since Monday!!

Thanks to the Journey and to existence for providing this divine nourishment.

On Saturday morning [29th Nov] , I have my Healing Journey Swap.

Vibodha has finished my JOURNEY web site. To check it out click here.

I feel so blessed and am filled with gratitude for my life.

Today we visit the Osteopaths
Thursday 27th November, 2003 - Perth, Western Australia
- - - early morning - - -

Today I am due to take Devon to our parenting class and we will also take a trip to the library and Vibodha will get on with some of the things he needs to do here at home. Later we will take a walk as a family to the park.

Nothing else needs to be done until tomorrow morning at 8am.

Then we visit Anna and David, our Osteopaths.

They are working on us as a family.

To find out more about what an Osteopath does, I recommend visiting their web site: www. Mosman Park Osteopaths .com

Osteopathy is doing wonders for us.
We are feeling so aligned and balanced.

They have been aligning Devon and I since two days after he was born.

I am just now getting past the pregnancy related imbalances.

Devon is great having shifted his birthing experience in which put his back out a little. He is now just getting check-ups. (Photo above, Devon in-session.)

David is balancing Vibodha. With all his past injuries, I have seen an awesome improvement in his well-being and reduction of pain(... from the number of times he fell, banged, sprained, twisted or strained himself...)

Anna and David are wonderful, if you're in Perth, it is well worth a few sessions to get yourself balanced.

Gardening, Veggies, Baby Massage & Memories
on Saturday, November 29, 2003

Hello again.

It is now Saturday evening, 7:00pm. Devon has been asleep for the last hour and 15 minutes.

He was up most of the day.

While I had a Journey Swap this morning, E.j. (Vibodha) and Devon went to the garden centre.

E.j. (Vibodha) has taken to doing the gardening, with Devon from 6:00am until 8:00am every day.

He gives me an extra sleep, isn't he adorable, as I am up in the night for breast-feeding. [Vibodha changes nappies during the night too, so we do our fair share – this makes a BIG difference].

Chilli's from Kuala Lumpur, not our Veggie PatchDue to these early morning gardening sessions, we now have a vegetable patch! (or so he tells me - Those small plants producing vegetables, we'll see.)

Can you believe it?

I am watching, wondering whether it might actually be possible to “grow” vegetables in our garden..

My association with vegetables, especially exotic ones like sweet corn, capsicum and chilli's (which are now in are garden) is that you buy them from a shop.

This is quite a big thing for me! Growing vegetables. I’ll keep you informed of the progress. I know, all you green finger types are probably horrified!!

Anyway, it's still Saturday, November 29, 2003
a little after 7pm.

When Devon wakes up I will feed him, give him an oil massage (lucky boy) and then we'll have a bath.

Then he will have his nappy changed and be helped into his PJ’s by his father… ready for Saturday night.

I remember what my Saturday nights were like as a child.

I remember watching “Dr. Who” at 6.30pm just before bedtime.

I remember my Dad bringing home lucky dips of sweets from work on Friday night.

The three of us (me, Catherine and Russell) would look in our bags and then decide if we wanted to swap any with each other. Memories. Such fun!

Amazement and Wonder

all I have to say is

a picture says a thousand words

On Sunday afternoon we spent our time lounging at the South Beach cafe in Fremantle.

Friend's of ours play down there every Sunday.

Tony plays the sax, and Pranava (below) sings and plays the guitar.

The food was spectacular. ((And we know the chef Raphael.)) Raph and his wife Jane just had a little girl two weeks after Devon. They were in our anti-natal class.
