Baby Preparation - September
2003 Setting up the Birthing Pool, the
Birthing Room and getting mentally and physically prepared... |
Most
of this month has been spent in preparation for the baby.
This is us setting up a display for me to look at while I'm giving
birth in our birthing room.
I have been doing lots of great relaxing things.
Some of the highlights have been: |
My
dear friend Vistara has given me a massage every week for the last
2 months...she is AWESOME. I have found them so relaxing in helping
me to prepare for the birth.
I have also been to aqua classes every Thursday evening with a
wonderful group of other pregnant women exercising in the water
[hot water] & talking to the teacher Gaby.
She is a midwife & has had 3 natural births & we get to
ask questions as we exercise.
The picture here of the shells is of the cot we are creating for
the baby. This is my side of it in progress. We will give you a
glimpse when it is complete. The nursery is taking shape we will
feature it soon!! |
Another
beautiful girlfriend of ours, Gosia, has been doing her hypnobirthing
course with us. It is about meditating & deep relaxation during
the birth. It has been wonderful. This is Gosia...
Vibodha & I have been meditating every
morning, walking, and stretching. |
| The Birthing Room |
I
thought you might like to see the BIRTHING ROOM.
It is now all set up with the pool, the displays, the belly cast,
the mattress, and of course the candles that everyone bought &
brought so their energy is with us in the room. It is such a sacred
& blissful space.

We
tested out the waterbirthing pool.
It takes 1 hour to fill and it is DIVINE!
The water stays hot for about 4 hours & its big enough for
all 3 of us easily.
Baby loved it.
We have created a beautiful space for this new little being to
come into the world. Take
a tour of the Birthing Room. |

| Melissa & Che's Wedding |
We
also had a fun day & evening at our friends Melissa's and Che’s
wedding.
It was an amazing day. |
She
& her new husband Che looked wonderful and were so romantic!!
We know Melissa’s whole family & they are fabulous!
(See "Making
Pancakes," July 2003) |
Their
Italian hospitality makes us always feel so welcome.
The reception was great. We also got to meet Che's side of the
family too – they are a lot of fun. |

| Another trip to Dunsborough, Western Australia |
We
took another brief trip down to the studio in Dunsborough for another
break before the baby. |
We
spent some time with Gillian and Marshall taking long bush walks
with the kangaroos and walking by the ocean.
There really are some beautiful properties down here, it would
be a great place to live.
Gillian and Marshall have just rented out the cottage on the other
side of their property to a lovely young couple who will now wake
up every morning living in a forest – how delightful. |
I
feel we would be a bit cut off 3 hours south of Perth – I like
living in the countryside but with easy access to some city life -
and Fremantle is perfect for that!! |

|
| Alex & Lesley Leave for Uluru (Ayres Rock) |
Alex
and Lesley left on their travels again having headed both North
and South of Perth.
They enjoyed their trips to Exmouth, Monkey Mia [where they swam
with the dolphins] and they then went south to Margaret River and
Dunsborough and hung out in some wineries down there –testing…
testing… testing… – well someone has to do it!!!
|
| We had a good time with them, we didn’t go anywhere
much together as we were really busy and they appreciated the time
to be in a home environment and relax and recuperate from months of
being “on the road” in South America. They have now gone
to Alice Springs and Ayers Rock, they next go to Cairns where they
will dive on the Barrier Reef and then to Sydney where they have tickets
for the Rugby World Cup Final and Semi-final. [Alex is set on England
still being in by that stage!!]. |

| Taking the Family for a Dance at Zorba's in Fremantle |
This picture is of Vibodha's side of the cot!
Our last highlight for the month for our night out dancing at Zorbas
in Fremantle.
We took baby out for a dance!!
This is a great club, it is a “Sannyasin” club so
when you go there you can just dance however you want, no-one will
look at you funnily, you have complete freedom to just move anyway
you like!!
|
We saw lots of our friends down there and had the
opportunity to connect with them, they are all so excited and supportive
about the baby. We met Avi and Pita, who have a little boy of now
4 months – Osher.
They had him with them all wrapped up and he had a great time dancing
too!!
So as September ends and October begins we move closer to the birth
and to seeing our little boy in the outside world. |
Thanks
to you all for your support over this time and we will keep you informed.
My Mum and Dad arrive on the 5th October and will be staying for a
few weeks – hurrah!! |
See you all soon, we trust your month was great
too. We'll let you know when Baby arrives!!!
