This month has started in an interesting way...

We are going to have a baby!

I was recommended to go to the Mungala Chinese Herbal Medical Center to get some natural herbs to aid conception.

Little did I know that while I was in the office learning about the herbs, I was already pregnant!

Well now, that's some exciting news, eh?
I see you've already heard the news! Yes, indeed, Lisa is pregnant.

Baby Mai, (pronounced: my) is the pre-birth name of our new child. Baby Mai is due on October the 7th, 2003.

I am sure Baby Mai is enjoying the stay.

The food [now that mommy feels a bit less like she's on a ship in a gale] is much nicer now too.

:) You mothers didn't tell her it was going to be like this!

I wrote a story about how we discovered Baby Mai's arrival... you can read it here...

It is entitled, 'The News You are Going to Be a Father...'

A Relaxing trip to the Sankhampang Hot Springs.
Near Chiang Mai, North Thailand

With our new friends, Rolf and Karen (from Germany) we headed to the springs to have a relaxing morning.

We drove out past mountains, paddy fields, and palm trees.

We swam in the mineral water, cooked eggs in the superheated pools and highly enjoyed the location, weather, and company...

Chiang Mai Flower Festival 2003

Chiang Mai get's down to some festivities this month at the Flower Festival 2003.

The parade rocked the streets while the flower-laden floats wafted past the international crowd... Read more about the Chiang Mai Flower Festival 2003

Thailand is really an amazing place. We have been here in Chiang Mai since November, and we have been to festival after festival.

It's an inspiring place.

The people of Thailand live a life like no other people I have come across.

Did you know that it is part of the culture to make work fun?

They have the attitude that if it's not fun, it's not worth doing. So they make it ALL fun!

As you can see from the parade, they sure know how to make life fun!

We took a tour of the Flower Show, which was centred around the South West corner of the old city.

Here I am perched on the wall ruins at that same corner of the moat.

The Flower displays were gorgeous.

Being a sub-tropical climate, the flowers sure enjoy growing!

It was a pleasure to be at festival such as this.

Here you can see the prize show cabbages.

The floats were all hand made and covered with all types of flowers.

To see more of the floats visit: The Chiang Mai Flower Festival 2003 page.

I know someone who wanted to join the parade.

Unfortunately it wasn't her Tuk Tuk.

Finally...

The weather in Chiang Mai in February is beautiful. It is quite cool in the mornings and in the afternoon is gets lovely and hot – sunbathing weather for sure.

We've been staying at Joyce, Jim and Sharon's place in Mae Rim, about 15 mintues from Chiang Mai. It is a beautiful place to be; very relaxing and comfortable. It is just what I needed after a week of constant-motion sickness.

I am much more 'stable' and have really begun to enjoy the beautiful news, and the pregnancy itself.

We're having a baby! :)
