Northampton, UK... funs times with family.
August 2002 |
I
took the opportunity to connect and spend some time with family while
I was back in the UK for my friend Tracey's wedding.
I stayed with my brother Russell and his girlfriend Natasha in
Northampton, England. My Mum and Dad came over from Northern
Ireland for a few days so we could hang out together. (map
of UK)
The weather was hot and sunny and we took the chance to relax outdoors
in the BBQ weather. |
The
only family member missing was my sister Catherine.
She was with us in spirit.
She has a family in Northern Ireland.
See my whole Irish family here:

Althorpe Manor, the resting place of Lady Diana

Being so impressed by Lady
Diana life, it was great to see where she grew up and her
final resting-place. Althorpe Manor is only open for about 2 months
each year ~ from the date of her birth on July 1, 1961, Sandringham,
Norfolk and the date of her death on August 31, 1997, Paris.
Althorpe is beautifully done, Earl
Spencer has really paid a wonderful and fitting tribute to
his sister.
The family home is opened up to the public and the
dedication to her life and work is set up in 3 rooms.
Video
footage, old school pictures and memories of Diana,
clothing [including her wedding gown] and books of condolence, to
name but a few things. The shop there is filled with a few beautifully
selected items, very reflective of Diana. It is not a cheap and
tacky shop set up to make money.
See it for yourself here.
Althorpe Manor -
well worth a visit.
Experience it through my eyes here: Althorpe ~ ancestral
home of Lady Diana. |

Stratford-upon-Avon, England August
2002 |
| If you have never had the good
fortune to meander through the Tudor streets of Stratford Upon Avon
then you have a treat in store for you...

Stratford Upon Avon is a beautifully quaint place in England and
it is home to one of the most well known writers of all time - William
Shakespeare. [The photo above shows the house he was born
in.]
As
you wander through the streets you cannot help being transported
back in time.
Take a trip with me and my Mum and Dad and see it for yourself...
See Ann Hathaway's Cottage [Shakespeare's
wife] and the birthplace of Shakespeare's
mother, Mary Arden ... A delight.
I
have been to Stratford quite a few times before and each time I
love it more!
Take Virtual Tour
of Stratford here.
My Mum and Dad really enjoyed themselves.

We had a great time with Russell and Natasha and my Mum and Dad.
We watched a few movies and had a few great meals. Everyone took
their turn either cooking or paying for a meal.
We went out for a great Indian meal in Northampton. We were the
only ones in the entire restaurant and we got phenomenal service!!
Russell
and Tash are doing up their house - this will be the 2nd one they
have done up to sell. They are getting to be quite the DIY experts!
Thanks Russ and Tash for a great time!!
Cheers Russell and Tash for a great weekend!
An Awesome time! |

A Wedding..in a Palace in Scotland! August
2002 |
| My
dear friend Tracey Baxter is getting
married, to Derek Stark. I was determined
to make the trip from Canada to attend the wedding.
I am so glad I did, I had a wonderful time and I reconnected with
many of my family and friends. as well as my best friend, Tracey.
The
wedding was beautiful, just as I would expect from Tracey! She looked
beautiful and the "special touches" to the day made it
a time to remember.
This is me with our good friends Jan and Gordon.

of the day here: The

Scottish Friends, New Arrivals! August
2002 |
| One
of the added benefits of going to Tracey's Wedding was that I got
to hang out with my oldest and dearest school friend from Foyle
College in Londonderry.
You may have been introduced to her already... Niki [Bogle, now
Saggu].
When I was there I got to meet her little girl Amber, for the first
time ~ she is gorgeous. Niki is again pregnant - this time with
a little boy.
This is her at her quietest!!
Niki and Manjit live in Edinburgh
~ you can take a look at this beautiful city for yourself here:
Edinburgh ~ the Jewel of the
North. Alternatively check out the map
of the UK.
Edinburgh is where I studied & lived from 1986~1988.
Here
is a picture of Niki and Manjit to
remind you.
New News: She has now had her second
baby ~ a little boy named Kiran. |

The rest of the month
Work, rest and play in Toronto... August
2002 |
I then few to Kuala Lumpur
for a few days and attended the Money Mastery Boot Camp. Then returned
to Canada (map)
(and Vibodha ~ I missed him.)
This
picture shows the surrounding countryside area of Stouffville.
We spent the rest of the month in Stouffville,
it was a very busy one, working many hours a day.
We
still took advantage of the fact that our friends Duncan and Helen,
were so close by. We spent 2 weekends with them. One
we went to the Oasis Concert.
The big Stadium in Toronto is just beautifully located. We had
tickets on the grass and in the heat of the sun you could get a
tan and at the same time take in the great view of downtown Toronto.
[No photos sorry].
We
also went on a very fun trip down to Niagara, on the Niagara Jet
Boats, where you can get on a boat that "throws you
about a bit" in the wash of the falls. [This is not the same
place where you board the Maid of the Mist].
You are wearing a life jacket and you get absolutely soaked ~it
is great fun!
At
one stage the driver says "hold on",the whole boat dips
down into one of the waves and the next thing you see as you look
up is a massive wave coming right at you, over you head. Then of
course you hear the laughs and the screams of the people!!
We
had delicious meals and great company as usual.
They will be moving into their new house soon.

Another Trip To Philadelphia.
August 2002
|
It
was decided that the business needed us in Asia, and
were mentally and emotionally prepared and ready to move back to
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
So we had to start getting the house dismantled and ourselves packed
and ready to move back to KL.
We were not that enamored with this idea but we agreed for the
good of the business.
This is a picture of KL, Kuala Lumpur, the Capital of Malaysia.
We
took one last weekend in Philadelphia and New York to be with our
family, a 20 hours drive and 1 night in Glenside
and 1 night in New York with Shawn
and Chris.
We also had a great meal with Nana, Memom, Poppy, Tom and Amanda
~it was well worth the long drive!! |
We packed and left for Asia, but on the way we stopped
in Vancouver and Tokyo... You can read about both of them in September
2002
Go to SEPTEMBER &
OCTOBER ...to see... a big change
in store for us... |
