The Murder Mystery at Settler's Inn
York, Western Australia - January 2002

Tila and I have visited the town of York several times since moving the Perth. On one visit, we came across the perfect venue for a Murder Mystery, the Settler's Inn.

York is approximately 2 hours drive east of the city. It is a quiet town, once one of the major outposts for inland explorers during the colonization of Australia. We usually go there for peace and quiet!

Though not always... This time we gathered a few friends together, (see Duncan and Helen, left) rented the Settler's Inn and held a Murder Mystery - see the Cast, Crew & Culprits.

(The Settler's Inn is an old sprawling, colonial hotel and is one of the most visited buildings in WA.)

The inn was in the state of changing owners, so hiring it for the evening was ideal for all involved. Lots of our friends from WA attended, and it turned our to be quite an experience...

If you have never experienced a Murder Mystery, it is worth the effort to find one or hold one yourself. See our Murder Mystery.

Rottenest Island & The Quokkas
Western Australia

We had a great vacation. We visited Rottenest Island, off the coast of Perth in a sailing yacht. Ten of us! It was fantastic (though, personally, I wouldn't recommend doing it after drinking two cups of tea and a muffin...gulp) You can see what we were up to on the trip to Rotto HERE.

It's where the Quokka's live. Quokka's are small mammals that look like a cross between a kangaroo and a chipmunk (though some say rat.) See the photo (right).

They're small, about the size of a small dog or medium-sized cat. They kind of HOP.

The are located on the Island, which is only accessible by boat. See our trip to Rotto and experience it for yourself.

Hanging out in Spearwood, Western Australia
Western Australia

We had a delightful time in Perth, and made many life-long friends.

However, our business was growing and we (the partners and ourselves) decided that it would be beneficial to move to Toronto for a few months to help develop our systems for expansion.

So, the month of February was devoted to finalizing outstanding work and packing to move to Toronto, Canada.

We purchased our tickets, which allowed us to stop off in Northern Ireland (so we could spend a few weeks with Lisa's Family).

We packed, completed and off we went... to Toronto via Northern Ireland...
