Early in December we received news that a visitor was coming. Our friend Nirav.

It was great to spend time with him again.

While Nirav was here we drove North to the Pinnacles.

It is a 3 hour drive North of Perth - the drive itself is a bit dull as it is only lightly rolling and looks all the same, but when you get there it is well worth the trip.

The Pinnacles are in Namburg National Park and it's one of Australia's most fascinating landscapes.

We decided that it would be great to see our friends Duncan (right) and Helen Francis for New Year, and arranged to have them visit.

They arrived just after Christmas, a few days before New Year's Eve.

We had a beautiful New Year's Eve out in Fremantle, with live music, trapeze artists and dancing.
