A Holiday VISIT to Malaysia and Thailand
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

I am sitting in the airport with Kathy, who works with us at Mastery International and we await the arrival of Catherine, my sister on her holiday to Asia...

I am really excited to see her... a cup of tea later I spot her coming through the barrier!!!

She is looking great. We come back home and head to the local restaurant for dinner - we are the only non-Chinese there and everyone is very friendly it is a Saturday night and very busy so we have a long wait.

Traveling to Thailand
March 2001

The next day I took Catherine into town, shopping. In the afternoon, we headed to Subang Airport to catch our plane to Thailand - Koh Pha Ngan (Subang Airport was closed permanently in 2002) We will meet Vistara and Nirav at the airport in Koh Samui.

Our plane, right, is very reassuring ...not!

The little Pelangi!

After a 2 hour flight we touch down - happy to be in Thailand (and on the ground!)

Koh Samui, Thailand
on the way to the Island of Koh Pha Ngan
March 2001

I'm not so sure Catherine will be as keen to join us on holiday again, after what she went through. You can see why - including the rain, sun and beaches - here: Our week in Koh Pha Ngan, Thailand.

We had to stay overnight in Koh Samui - the first night as there was no boat after 6pm - that was a fun evening.

We spent a long time laughing as you can see from this picture of Catherine.

We had to take a Plane, Taxi, Boat, Taxi, & Taxi to get to the bungalow resort on Koh Pha Ngan.

We stopped at the Big Buddha statue on Samui (See map of Thailand), which is beautiful.

Early the next morning we headed for the boat... which was an experience. Lots of backpackers all piled in as we head to the Island.

It was coming up to Full Moon Party, the time of the month when hundreds of travelers flock to the Island.

It's not the luxury travel Catherine is used to.

(We went to a Full Moon Party back in Feb 2000 - visit that or Jump Directly to a Full Moon Party (we went to in Feb 1999) )

March 2001

We eventually got over to Koh Pha Ngan & things started off with a beautiful lunch in the port town of Thongsala.

Me, Catherine and Vistara decided to head to the bungalows to check in. Nirav and Vibodha stayed to pick up a few supplies (water and fruit).

Almost immediately the rain began. It rained, and I mean rained ...we were TOTALLY drenched and laughing hysterically by the time we reached the bungalows.

The locals immediately confessed that there "hasn't been a drop of rain for weeks" and they are glad for the rain.

We laughed so hard we were almost in tears. Catherine travels all this way from Northern Ireland via Kuala Lumpur (which was sunny when we left), straight into a tropical cyclone.

The cyclonic weather didn't get much better for the week of our visit. It turned out to be a freak, unseasonal Cyclone blowing across from the South China Sea!!

We got to sunbathe for about a day and a half - so we had to find other ways to amuse ourselves. Which we did.

You can see the full adventures and places we stayed here: Our week in Koh Pha Ngan, Thailand

We had a thrill that was for sure...a highly recommended adventure!

Back in Kuala Lumpur,
a view from the Petronas Towers.
Malaysia - March 2001

We get back to KL and Catherine gets a chance to catch up on some sunbathing at the pool in our apartment complex.

We went sightseeing to KLCC and the Petronas Tower "Skybridge". I took a few photographs and here they are. Petronas Towers "Skybridge".

The same day Catherine flew back to Northern Ireland, we moved houses.

We moved into a flat near the commonwealth Olympic stadium and it is beautiful - even nicer than the other one.

We overlook a private golf course. The flat is beautifully decorated and we even have cable TV - so I have the Movie Channels (4) for the first time ever and I LOVE IT!!

It is so peaceful here - no roosters or barking maniac dogs.

We are even happier now.

It is like we have started a whole new experience of Kuala Lumpur.

The Rest of our Month

We have also been doing a lot of Traveling around South East Asia, to Singapore quite a few times and Penang as well.

We are flying to Perth, Australia to do a company tour and attend the Landmark Forum - which strongly suggest everyone looks into.

Landmark Education has expanded our awareness, awakened us to ourselves, and irrevocably changed the course of our lives.
