The Petronas Towers
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, October 2000 |
The KL towers, the highest buildings in the world are very impressive.
At
night they are lit up in purple and when we first looked up and
saw them we couldn't speak for a few minutes. They truly are spectacular.
This is where the film "Entrapment" was filmed - Sean
Connery and Catherine Zeta Zones (married Michael Douglas.) |

KL ~ |
Our apartment building is great. We have a beautiful swimming pool,
squash courts, tennis courts, a restaurant, shop, boutique, hair salon,
beauty salon, sauna. We have occasionally been swimming and in the
sauna. We have been working a lot.
It is 75 degrees here. So I'm sorry that it's coming into winter
for some of you ....!!! I will certainly think of you while I'm
sunbathing. |

Indian Food with our Fingers
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia Wednesday, October
8th, 2000 |
We
had a wonderful Indian meal with a new friend we have made. His
name is Nirmaljit, or N.S. for short. I met him at the Money Mastery
Boot Camp.
He took us out for a meal with his family and we had
a great time. The food came served on a plate of banana
leaves
I realized that there we no utensils. Obviously, we
were to eat using our fingers.
It felt very strange at first. In India EJ ate a lot
with his fingers in India (see travels in
India) but this was the first time I had tried it.
He pointed out to me, very subtly, that I shouldn't
be eating with my left hand I quickly
switched to using my right one! (see why
in the short explanation: Using
the Left Hand) |

| ~ KL Tower, KUALA
LUMPUR~ |
We have had a great time in Malaysia so far.
I have been doing work with KC for Malaysian National
Insurance.
I am conducting a new company employment survey, and
it's great experience for me.
We haven't done a lot of touring or traveling since
arriving here. KL is a nice city full of hustle and bustle.
 |
| ~ Hawker Stalls,
KUALA LUMPUR~ |
The shopping and cost of living is relatively low here. The Ringitt
is the national currency or Rm for short.
One pound (as of Oct 02) is worth 5.2 Rm so things are cheap
as chips!
EJ got a beautiful suit made, it looks fab and it was about £200.
You can get them a lot cheaper here than London, and they'll make
any design you wish.
We watched some DVD movies on our CD.

The Kingdom of Brunei Thursday
the 12th of October 2000 |
In a hurry? Look at the photos NOW:
Kingdom of Brunei.
This
morning we got up early to go into the city.
We came across the main River Taxi center.
And decided to jump aboard and take a tour of the city from the
river. It was great fun, it reminded me of an exciting fairground
ride!!
Our
driver was great, he took us to the "little Venice" of Brunei
where people live in river houses. The houses look quite cute
and, of course, some were nicer than others!!
We zoomed past the Palace and the atmosphere was one of movement
and fun. The water taxis take people from the town to their
homes out on the river.
There was a constant flurry of activity on
the river.
It was about 90 degrees and sunny, so all in all a great morning.

of Brunei.
Brunei
has the most beautiful mosques.
We went to the palace of the Sultan of Brunei. He is a very handsome,
well groomed man of about 50, with 2 "official" wives.
We looked around the outside of the palace and then we saw two
police motorbikes pull out into the road, followed by a fleet
of Mercedes.
The Sultan!
Tonight we have the night off and we are flying to
Kota Kinabula (K.K. for short). |

Mutiara Oriental Residency
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia Sunday October
15th 2000 |
Well, we are back from East Malaysia. The trip
was fun and successful.
We are both a bit weary I think, and it it nice to be in our own
apartment again.
Tomorrow
morning starts things off again, and we are both looking forward
to a good nights sleep.
Lisa is doing some corporate training tomorrow, and I am in the
office all day. Tomorrow night, there is a Money Mastery Preview
Seminar with a gathering of MM graduates just before, so we will
both be along to that. |

| Thursday 26th of October, 2000 |
| Well, today is a national holiday
in Malaysia. Lisa (Tila) and I spent the day in the office. It is
very peaceful in here, no phone ringing, no music playing (the people
in the office play music on their computers) and no interruptions.
Although I just looked at the clock an it is quarter to seven at
night. I feel like I have achieved today.
We are both heading down to Singapore
next weekend. We are putting together a few promo-videos in a studio
down there, and I am doing a weekend training course. That should
be nice. I like Singapore. |
