A Life We Love

First, you have to get that taking a round-the-world trip is possible.

It is not a dream, not a 'someday, maybe' kind of adventure.

It is real, possible, and well with the realm of reality for anyone. Of course there are 'reasons' why it might not be possible for you, but you see, we life an unreasonable life. (See the rest of this website for examples.) Reasons are not real... You're not behind bars... your life is yours to do with what you will. So do it.

We live our life from the context of 'anything is possible.'

When you live from this perspective you see WAYS and MEANS instead of obstacles.

Sure, it takes something to do the things you've always wanted to do, but you know what?

Our time here is limited.

I can't say whether we'll be reincarnated and get to live life again, and I can't say whether there is an afterlife.

What I DO know is that we've been given this life, right now, and we can either let it happen to us, or make the most of OUR time.

So we do.

People ask, "How do you afford it?"

Well, for starters, we rent our house while we're away traveling. That keeps our home-based expenses to a minimum.

Secondly, we don't channel our money into fast-food, fancy cars, hire-purchase items, or anything that could get us into debt. (Though we do eat out from time to time,)

We channel it into the things we want most out of life.

Travel, fresh fruit and vegetables, handmade furniture and art, books...

We choose to do the things we really want to do over the things that could bring us short-term pleasure.

Three months traveling around the world comes from organisation, planning, and a will to do what IS possible.

If you've always wanted to do something, DO IT.

Take it from us, it's worth it.

The tickets for this trip were financed by Stewart and Carol Parkhill and Ed & Dottie Clark. They each paid for half of our ticket to travel the globe to be at the Parkhill wedding and stay in the USA for two months. Dad, Mom, Dad and Mum, a BIG THANK YOU for assisting us to have this amazing trip!

So we packed, and packed, and packed.

And a miracle happened right here in this room.

We (Lisa and I) used to travel with FOUR suitcases filled to the brim (and usually over airline weight restrictions), plus two carry-ons EACH. As anyone knows who has picked us up from the airport, it was TOO MUCH STUFF.

But back to the miracle.

Now there are THREE of us, and we managed to fit all of our things into TWO suitcases (plus a light suit carrier with only two suits in it), and ONE carry-on each.

It's like the opposite of the loaves and fishes story, we went from eight bags to five, and we have one extra person. Amazing.

Remember, anything is possible.
