Fairmount Boat House, Boat House Row, Philadelphia

Boat House Row (below) is one of the most famous sights of Philadelphia (besides Independence Hall, The Liberty Bell and The Art Museum steps, from the movie Rocky).

This is Fairmount Boat House.

LaSalle University, my father's alma mater, rows out of this house.

The boat houses are used to store the skulls (boats) for the rowers.

They simply carry them out the door and set them in the river.

These are the twin sculls.

Two people per boat.

The largest Regatta in the World happens right here on the Schukyll River in Philadelphia.
