North West 200
Motorcycle Race
Portrush, Northern Ireland |
| |
This was the first time I ever visited a professional motorcycle
race.
First impressions?
It was FAST!
|
You could HEAR them coming from a mile off and before you knew it
they were here and gone.
The racers would literally fly by, and within a second be gone
around the next bend. |
|
These guys obviously had a long ride to get here and missed their
nights sleep.
(Either that or too much beer.)
|
There
were thousands of spectators lining the roads. Visitors from all
of europe flock to the Northwest 200 for the day.
It was great to have it right here on our doorstep. |
We
didn't stay too long as Devon wasn't keen on the ZZZZOOOOOMMMM'S
coming and going.
The bikes were so fast I think he couldn't comprehend where the
sounds were coming from and that frightened him.
|
|
We visited the circuit twice that day, the second time leaving Devon
at home.
This was the view we had on our afternoon visit. |
 Here
you'll see the good photographs, however it was no surprise to find
a few dozen photographs with nothing but blank street and grass
(man those bikes are fast!) |
It gave me an opportunity to practice my high-speed photography.
Some of the shots turned out well, wouldn't you say?
|
|
|
If you happen to be in Northern Ireland
during the Northwest 200, and are in to motor sports, it is well
worth a visit.
