Shipping our Possessions
to Australia |
| |
It
took days to go through our things!
There are restrictions on what is allowed into Australia, and we
needed an inventory for Australian customs so down came the boxes
and a sorting took place.. |
No
dried flowers, no herbs, no untreated wood, no foodstuffs (including
the beautiful multicolored jar of dried beans), no dirt on pots
or shoes (it took two hours to scrub the shoes clean), and no junk
(that was our rule).
|
And
then finally, the container arrived.
It was bigger than we thought.
Probably didn't need to get rid of as much stuff as we did... ah
well. |
| |
|
After
two hours of loading, the job was done, the container sealed (with
a plastic, numbered seal), and off it went.
From Belfast it goes directly to Antwerp, and from Antwerp straight
to Fremantle, Western Australia.
We then have to go and sign for the goods, along with an exact
copy of the shipping document, and they will deliver it to our home
in Fremantle. We'll give you an update when it reaches the other
side... |

And finally, Stewart gets his garage back.
Stewart & Carol,
Thanks for storing our things for all this time, I don't know what
we would have done if it had not been for you. |
