Vibodha
has gone running off to see what is on fire over to the South of Chiang
Mai. |
|
| So I have just had a delicious cup of Jasmine Tea on the balcony
while my hot bath was running, with Ylang Ylang and Patchouli Aromatherapy
oils and a new book "The City of Joy". |
| Then we looked out the window and saw a LOT of smoke coming from
something, it looked like it might be a temple, but we are too far
away to tell. Vibodha grabbed tha camera [ever the photographer] and
asked me whether I wanted to go with him, the call to be feminine
and take a hot bath and read was too alluring. |
| I declined his invitation to be masculine and go adventuring in
favour or luxury and of course now I have some peace and quiet too!
Maybe I'll have another cup of tea! |
|
I hear more fire engines this time one is hurtling down the moat
road right past our hotel and I am reminded again of the smoke.
So EJ will come back later and report to you what was going on
on Christmas Eve at 2.30pm here in Chiang Mai.
As I leave you I hear another siren , I look...I can't see the
vehicle but I can hear the noise and the smoke is just pouring out
of that building in the distance.
Just a week ago we visited a temple which has been burned out by
a fire and we were very saddened. |
| So now Vibodha is back from the fire at the airport plaza, which
is a shopping complex on the outskirts of Chiang Mai... What does
he have to report? |
The Airport Plaza Shopping Centre was burning. |
 Fire
Fighters from all over Chiang Mai had come to put out the blaze. |
|
There was a lot of smoke, but there looked to be no casualties. |
It
is quite a large complex, as you can see, and it took about an hour
to get the blaze under control. |
Firemen all over the world are heroes aren't they?
Firemen are awesome. |
This
is the view from the sidelines.
The blessed thing about today was that the part of the building
that was on fire was NOT OPEN to the public, but was in the process
of being build.
Amen.
Over and out. |
