CHIANG MAI LIFE

At the Night Bazaar...this is a really fun place to go, loads of amazing things for sale and so cheap!
We bought some lights for the room for Christmas they are made out of cotton, very ingenious!!
This was the setting for the Chiang Mai Mardi Gras, they really are into festivals and celebration here, a great city to live in!
This is a shot of the female singers at the Mardi gras, they were very good, except the slight difference in the pronunciation of some of the English!! BUT at least they speak more English than I do Thai!

This is Vibodha at our favourite Vegetarian Indian Restaurant where we learned to cook!!YUM The view from the Indian Restaurant where Vibodha was sitting.
Views from what we think was the Chinese Festival, we just ran into it on our way back home one day! Fun eh??Hundreds of people were here watching!! We really do live right by where all the celebrations happen!!
The guys took turns in lifting the dragon and running frantically around all over the place with it, they were cheering and yelling and singing!! Of course there were many drums banging beside them too!
A typical scene for rickshaw drivers, quite frequently you will catch them sleeping in them too!
A little girl playing away!!
Statues and shots from some Spirit Houses, when they build on land they also made a house for the spirits of the land to live in as they have displaced them, good Karma I would imagine!
Views from the market nearby, everyday we pass people just moving around with their wares, tinkling the bells on their carts, sitting on the ground selling oranges etc at 50c a kilo!! Some people sell things for 2baht, which is around 5cents....I know I wouldn't want to sit around all day and night in the hope that someone was going to buy from me, but that's what many people have to do to live and eat!

Moonlight view of the temple close by!
Looking out of the Hotel Room Window.
VIEWS OF THE RIVER

Picnic in the park!! The Chiang Mai City Park is beautiful and it is on the South Moat. A great place to relax, eat and sunbathe!!

I trust you enjoyed a few more views of Chiang Mai, maybe you'll get here to sit this all for yourself! Well worth the trip!
