BANGKOK 2002 - A TRAVELER'S VIEW

The Temple of Spires - this was delightful.

A park nearby our Guesthouse.

One of the many many exotic buddhist temples, where people worship every day using candles and incense.

The temples are all open to the public and you can go in an worship anytime.

The ambience and peace inside them is priceless!

Here I am by the Fort, near our guesthouse New Siam II.

An example of the "East meets West" feel of Bangkok!

One popular mode of transport...a tuk tuk [pronounced took took]...they are fast but you get a mouth full of pollution on route!

Many times the drivers try to get you to visit a tourist shop - gems, clothing, etc so they get commission. Be careful with this as you may end up buying something you didn't really need!

One of the main streets near Koh Saan Road, on the way to the water taxi.

These are all pictures of the King's and Queen's; past and present. They LOVE their King here. At 6pm every evening the National anthem is played and people stop in the street to hear it!

We all went for a massage. You all lie down on mattresses next to each other and are given a Thai massage at the same time.

Mum and I had a foot massage and the rest of them, including Vistara and Nirav, had a 1 and a half hour full body Thai Massage.

It was unlike anything my Dad had experienced before...

... his first comment was...

"I thought you said that would be relaxing!!"...

but he loved it!!

All aboard the fast moving water taxi...

Out in PatPong
The "Red Light District" & Night Market

Watches, watches watches...every make an kind....$9.00USd ONLY!!..Cartier...Gucci...
