THE BATU CAVES
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

AN AMAZING SELECTION OF MONKEYS.

They really are amazing - they take the peanuts out of your hand like little children. One of them jumped up on me to get the peanuts from inside my hand. Trevor felt a little uneasy holding the bag of peanuts for a while at the top of the caves. The monkeys on the way up were very friendly and we loved being with them, the old monkeys and the young babies. As we got to the caves it seemed that there was a monkey hierarchy and these Monkeys weren't as much fun...it was like Lord of the Flies...only not as bad really!!

THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF STEPS TO CLIMB BUT IT IS WORTH IT!!

You are so busy feeding and adoring over the monkeys that you forget how many steps you have climbed - a great sidetrack.

FOOD BEFORE WE GO......AS USUAL... Trevor tried a lot of the local stuff.

ROTI CANAI....VIBODHA'S FAVOURITE DISH!! It is a bready dough consistency, almost like a pancake and they can add loads of things to it. He eats his with Vegetarian Dal - an Indian curry type dish. I have mine with either butter...this is called Roti Planta or I have it with brown sugar and banana with a topping of Nestle sweetened condensed milk ....YYYYUUUUMMMMMMMMY!!!

COOKING!

THE ARCHITECTURE IS ALSO BEAUTIFUL. The Locals seemed more fascinated by the pigeons!

HERE COME THE MONKEY SHOTS!!!

They are so cute, just like babies..apart from when they bare their teeth at you, then its scary!! Only one or two were a bit on the wild side the rest were wonderful.

There are hundreds of monkeys here....they are everywhere.

THE MOTHER WAS VERY POSSESSIVE OF HER BABY!!

The little one was holding unto the mother and she carried her everywhere. She wasn't even interested in getting food, she just wanted her baby to be safe. She stayed at a safe distance from us.

THIS SITE WAS AMAZING...LIGHT POURING IN

JUST BEFORE IT JUMPED ON ME AND I SCREAMED!!

SAVING THE BEST 'TIL LAST...THE LITTLE BABY!!
