Globaltickit visits Sligo, Ireland

THE SLIGO EXPERIENCE

Sligo is the poet W.B. Yeats country. We stayed in the Sligo Park Hotel.
We did a circuit of Lough Gill taking in the Pilgrimage Shrine and Holy Well at Tobernalt Legend has it that St Patrick's fingers are imprinted on the top of the Mass rock.
This is the area where the community gathered in secret to hold their mass as to do so in public would risk their lives.

On to Dooney Rock and the Lake Isle of Inishfree.

- AS WRITTEN ABOUT BY THE POET "YEATS".
