This is a Family Temple located within the family's land boundaries. The temple is an offering to the family's ancestors. Worship happens twice a day with offerings of flowers, rice and vegetables. The boys of the household never leave the home, but take a wife and have her join his family at the family home. The boys look after the parents, a sign of respect, and care for the family temple. Until the next generation comes and does the same. |

| Some of the interesting facts we discovered about Bali. |
| Balinese children are named according to the order they are born. The first born, whether they are male or female are given the same name, the females have a prefix on theirs to denote their womanhood. The seconds, thirds, and fourths born all have their own names too. If you happen to be born fifth then you go back to the beginning again and you are given the first borns name!! Both our tour guides were the first born and called the same name!!! |
