This is my beautiful niece Rachel on the beach at St Lawrence Gap.
We spent the few days that we were there on the beach with the
family.
Devon had fun too under the umbrella. My first experience of having
to cover him from head to toe in Sun block! |

On their last day as singles, Russell and Natasha come down and
join us on the beach!
|

Matthew and my Mum relaxing in the apartment. |
The
waves are awesome! I surfed on all the way into the shore.
What I didn't realise was I would be tossed around and upside down
as the wave broke!!! INTERESTING EXPERIENCE!!
I have much more respect for surfers now! |
Paul and Devon at the Almond Beach Resort.
This was taken just hours before the wedding...the benefits of
Barbados!! |
Devon falls asleep in my sister's arms on evening at the resort.
|
We
enjoyed one nice meal when we were there, a wonderful Chinese restaurant.
(Apart from food on the day of the wedding).
All the other food that we bought to cook and that we ate in restaurants
was not very good.
With the rest of the family staying in an all inclusive resort
it didn't give much communal time for all us us together, a little
disappointing. I suggest getting a villa!
|
Barbados
was good because I got to see my baby brother get married to the
love of his life.
They are so well suited.

St
Lawrence Gap is one of the livelier places on the Island of Barbados,
so we are told.
It is a pretty enough place and is quite lively. We got to fall
asleep to the sound of singing and music which was good. (We
didn't explore too much at night as we were recovering from 48 hours
of flights!)
We didn't get to tour around the Island in the short time we were
there so we can only comment briefly.
Compared to many places we have stayed I wouldn't put Barbados
on our recommended list .
We enjoyed being here because of the wedding but I won't be rushing
back again. |
The
water is beautiful, lots of waves on the South Coast and the weather
is great too!
I think it suits people who like package holidays.
For the type of travelling we do we found it expensive and more
importantly not value for money. |

There wasn't much for kids to do at The Escape At The Gap.
The Almond Beach Hotel, on the other hand, had an awesome kids
club, though it is even more pricey!
