Ventures to Rottenest Island, WA |
| Well the trip to Rotto was an adventure, that's
for sure! We hired a Sailboat (yacht) and sailed over. (three hours both
ways...) |
| This
is the boat we took. It look small here, but it was big enough to take
a bunch of us (and our food and drink) all the way to Rotto in comfort
and style.

|
We
spent the ride lounging around the sides of the boat (except for me, Vibodha,
who had an hour of hanging off the back of the boat... blugh) |
Sometimes
we got to stear the boat (I guess it was more like DRIVE the boat) however
it was enjoyable. |
And
from time to time, we even got to look cool, like Duncan: |
The
ladies looked glam. Kind of makes you wish you were there, huh? |
And
from time to time they even got to help out with the sail... |
However,
finally we made it to Rotto, where there is nothing but sandy beaches and...
well... a little shop to supply all the visitors who stay in the cottages
dotted around the island. Cool. |
So,
we sat on the pier for a few minutes and let our legs get used to solid
ground. |
And
I even managed to drive for a while (despite my unfavourable sea-fairing
stomach) and we made our way back to Perth. |
| Our
Skipper, Ernie, also checked his crab pots, and a particularly nasty one
even managed to wiggle in the bucket and scare poor Helen. Silly crab...
hope you liked the boiling later (well, he shouldn't have scared my friend.)
|
| That
was our trip to Rotto. I hope you enjoyed the experience. May you be blessed
with the friends and means to take the trip youself sometime. I know I
will never forget it.
