I LOVE climbing on rocks, especially when there is water around. Something about it just FEELS adventurous. Perhaps it's the smell in the air, or the feel of the ancient rocks under hand and foot. It's wonderful to get close to the water's edge and watch the waves. So, I thought I'd share that with Devon.

First, he'd have to learn to climb. Let's see if he takes to it...

He loves it.

We climbed all over the wave-worn rocks. I could see him gaining confidence and skill. I also noticed that he was aware of when he needed help, and asked for it. Very clever boy.

Cape Naturaliste LighthouseOn the way back from the main canal, Devon saw a few boys climbing the fence and heading off to the rock pinnacle far above us.

"Can we go there?" he asked. "Sure," was my reply.

With the help of his mother, I taught him how to climb wooden fences, and away we went, up the mountainside.

After reaching the top, we found a crevasse and began to climb down it, Devon first! By this time I was comfortable with his sense of caution, and just HAD to take some photographs...

I set the timer to photograph to two of us on the rock edge. Our feet are actually dangling in the air!

We had so much fun, we decided to visit again the following morning before returning to Fremantle. As you will see from the photos below, Devon gained an immense amount of confidence in such a short space of time. How grateful I am that we shared this with him. What a wonderful thing to do on our Babymoon. Mummy and her tummy came out amongst the rocks as well.

Great photograph Tila!

I had a wonderful time. Thank you Devon. It's a pleasure to be your father.
