DEVON GOES SWIMMING
Swim Class
Fremantle Pools, Western Australia

Every Thursday morning we take Devon to swimming for his 9am to 9.30am class with another 3 or 4 babies.

It is just the most amazing experience to be with Devon as he learns to relax in the water and to embrace it.

It’s so CUTE to see him in his little PHILLIES swimmer.
(Thanks Mom Mom America & Coach)

He looks so lovely and he always gets lots of comments.

We sing and we say hello and goodbye to each child individually in a song.

We particpate in games which are teaching Devon to relax and to be at ease in the water. They teach him awareness and he has fun too!

He is very social.

We have learned lots of important things in the class, like for instance…

We always hold him around the middle so he feels safe and then he relaxes.

We have been training Devon to go back to the edge of the pool.

We make sure that he grabs onto the edge of the pool and then we say well done!

In one of the games Devon puts his frog on the edge of the pool with the other Mums and babies.

We swim back into the pool a bit. Then we sing a song and go back to grab our frog!

I swim with Devon up to the edge, dipping him just under the water. I lift him up to grab his frog and he smiles and laughs! We do it about 3 more times!

There are so many great skills being taught here.

He reaches his arms out, and he blows bubbles.

In another game he swims around and grabs the floating balls that have been let loose from the basket.

Devon swims to the teacher with them, drops them in the basket and says "bye bye" to them.

He does fun exercises with the other children, and he seems to really loves the water.

He likes it warm:
baths...YES, showers...YES,

ocean....bbbbrrrrrrr....no....!
the garden hose....bbbbrrrrrrrrr......no......!
