SAVE COOGEE BEACH FOR OUR CHILDREN

Paul Barrrett shows his support. He told us that the aboriginal people have not been consulted by anyone about this proposed project.
This is very sacred land of theirs.
This is causing quite a stir here in WA, and the final decision falls to 1 woman... I hope ethics come to the fore here!

It is important to take a stand for what you believe in. It is possible to make a difference!!

All generations unite to save Coogee Beach.

There are over 300 people here saving the beach and there are rival factions there too with badges saying "Port Coogee NOW" and a small police presence in the middle.

Our speaker was great. At one point he said "Let's have a vote!". He then said "Everyone in favour of destroying our beaches to build Port Coogee raise their hands now". All the opposition put up their hands and jeered.

Then he said "Let me say that again, all those in favour of DESTROYING OUR BEACHES to build Port Coogee raise their hands..." It was SO FUNNY.

The "others" realised what they had done before and were suddenly VERY QUIET!!!

We all walked done to the beach to record our "footprints in the sand".

The 3000 strong band of us give a mexican wave for the Channel 9 helicopter.

It is very very hot here, 40 degrees.

The ship you see in the distance was hired in by those people who want Port Coogee. It sits in the ocean and over the loud speaker taunts the people on the beach, saying:
"What do we want? ...
PORT COOGEE
When do we want it?
NOW!!!"

Those of us on the beach aren't too impressed. Money talks eh!!

Dressed in Yellow and blue we all take our stand for the planet.

This is our friend Pat who was there too, you have meet him before. He was at our "Possibility Breakfast".

He is great fun and is from England. He puts a lot of Perth's theatrical performances together in Subiaco.

Devon has a swim with Dad.

It is just so hot that Vibodha goes out into the ocean and Devon is with him.

They are caught from behind by a wave and the pair of them get wet.

Devon loves the bath and the swimming pool, he needs to work up to the ocean I think!

This is our beach. It belongs to everyone!

This is the spot where the houses will begin. The beach will be gone forever if this is allowed to happen. We say NO!

It is not right.
