| Mosaica (Mosaic
Makers of Western Australia) |
One
day, while the family was out for a walk, we spotted a sigh
on a store called Mosaica.
It sounded interesting.
Once inside, we met a feast for our eyes. Mosaics. |
This
one is HUGE, and almost complete.
The artist Diabala (pronounced
Ja-la-ba) was finishing this (and several other pieces)
getting ready for her Show/exhibition in ten days time. |
Look
at the intricate detail in the colours and patterns.
Fab isn't it!! |
How
much patience...
How much persistence...
How much talent and skill...
... amazing. |
This
one also caught my attention. |
I
never would have thought you could capture the subtle changes
in skin tone with TILES, but somehow it works! |

I came in several days later and took this. The piece sure
was coming on!. |
|
 Meanwhile,
in another corner of the studio, Ian sat, creating a lampshade
(light-treat, more like - see the Show below.) |
 Also,
amazing. Just amazing. |
|
|
A
ha!
That's how it goes onto the lamp.
Cool.
|
|
|

This piece also caught my attention.
The colours are vibrant, the pattern enticing, the subject
intriguing.
|
|
 The
detail is astounding. |

I also noticed a mirror and candle holder in the corner.
You really can tell that Dialaba is someone who has a 'sense'
of balance, dimension, colour and scale.

| The Show |
This
is the artist Dialaba at her showing on Friday the 28th 2003
at Mosaica, Hamilton Hill, Western Australia. |
  |

As I said above, the lamps were a light treat.
Great job Ian.
|
|

The pieces are now finished and on display. |
|
|

The show was fantastic. Great job Dialaba. |
